Artist Statement

Seeing great art is what inspired me to become an artist. In turn, I hope to use my skills and craft to inspire others. I have been trained in discipline and professionalism by multiple instructors at all levels of my education. However, I understand the potential for exploration and creativity when making my craft. I strive to uplift and empower those around me in the hopes of keeping a supportive community of creative artists and makers. I believe that art is born from inspiration and restrictions and thus find myself making art based off of a topic I am learning about at the time. Because of this, my portfolio is as diverse as my interests. Three core goals in any project of mine are sustainability, utility, and accessibility. No material leaves my studio in a garbage can and I ensure that my pieces can sustain use. I prefer to make things that will serve a purpose or provide support to an individuals clothing experience. My work is predominantly soft products and garments but I have made wearable art pieces that entail multimedia techniques such as sculpture, painting, carving, and crafting. My mission is to make cool things for cool people.
